My 3D2N Bangkok Itinerary Of Shopping And Eating

We had a quick trip to Bangkok in February to get our suits made. At the same time, we took this chance to enjoy a nice couple’s break to shop and eat! I can’t believe our last couple trip without the kids was more than 10 years ago.I hope my Bangkok itinerary serves as a helpful reference for anyone planning a short trip there.

By the way, if you are heading to Thailand soon, rememeber to fill up the digital arrival card before going!

Transportation To Bangkok

We flew to Bangkok with Scoot, and thankfully, our meals were included otherwise, we would’ve been famished, as the flight was delayed by more than an hour.

Luckily, the flight back to Singapore was on time. Personally, I think their Ginger Teriyaki was pretty good, and the Cadbury chocolate biscuit was really nice! I wonder if it’s available to the public. For someone who doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth, I actually finished up the biscuits.

For coming back, I had oriental treasure rice, which is also nice!

After landing, we headed straight to the Klook pick-up station. I had pre-booked our transport, so we were able to board the car immediately and head straight to our hotel. I highly recommend booking in advance, as we saw a huge crowd waiting at the Grab holding area.

Hubby also checked the price and it’s comparable to grab. From Bangkok Airport to our Holiday Inn Hotel In Bangkok is about $26.

It’s an electric car and the ride is comfortable! Not bad. Remember to use my discount code (Qiqiklook) for additional discount when you book with klook.

Where We Stayed In Bangkok

For this trip, we stayed at Holiday Inn Bangkok in a room with a king-sized bed. It was conveniently located just a stone’s throw away from our suit tailor, Newman Exclusive. Overall, the hotel stay was quite good. What I liked best was the 7-Eleven located right below our hotel!

Toilet with showering at the side.

The breakfast selection wasn’t very extensive, but it was sufficient.

Their 7-11 is really huge and there is a resting area with tables, where you can enjoy your food.

Day 1 Bangkok Itinerary

After we checked in and had our suits measured, we headed straight to our dinner place.

Cheaper & Better Street Food

We took a Grab to this place for dinner, which is located near the shopping area we were heading to next. It’s quite popular among both locals and expats because it’s delicious and very affordable! I would say their Thai dishes are truly authentic, and their mango sticky rice is very good.

Although the eating area is along the street, the place is clean. It’s a great spot to hang out and have a beer!

Besides the dishes we ordered above, we also ordered seafood tom yum soup which is equally good too and coconut drink. This meal total cost is about SGD$28.

Makro Sathorn

After dinner, we decided to walk to Makro, which takes about 30 minutes on foot. You can also choose to take a Grab, which is about a 10–15-minute drive, excluding traffic.

Makro is one of the leading wholesale supermarkets in Thailand. They sell a wide range of products, including groceries, fresh food, household items, and electronics. It’s open to the public, though most of their products are sold in bundles.

It’s really huge that my camera is not able to capture the whole area!

I feel it’s a great place to stock up on snacks and beauty products, but only if you’re staying nearby and have enough luggage space. I didn’t dare to buy much since it was only our first day, and we brought just one luggage, big mistake. I bought hand cream, hair conditional, some snacks, those are really cheaper than BIG C. You can check my video on some of the stuff I bought and recommend!

If you are a big fan of ice-cream like my hubby, you can buy their meji ice-cream for 8 baht.

You can also claim your tax rebate here after shopping! If you’re shopping at Makro, remember to bring your own shopping bag, and note that they only accept cash.

Thailand Massage – Ai Sa Waan

After shopping, we went back to the hotel to drop off our bags, then walked to one of the massage shops that was still open at 11 pm! I think the massage was good because I actually fell asleep.

Day 2 Bangkok Itinerary

Tofu Skincare

Our first stop of the day! Shopping skincare products at Tofu skincare.

Tofu Skincare is a wholesale skincare store that carries many popular Thai brands like Cathy Doll, Snake brand Ustar, Joji, and more. They also sell snacks! It’s a very pink building which is directly opposit platinum mall.
They have 3 levels, but Level 2 is just a staircase landing, so I would say just focus on Levels 1 and 3!

You may encounter some buyers doing live selling so don’t be surprise!

What we bought! Honestly I regretted not buying more of their joji face mask! Cheap and good.

Som Som Seafood

I actually came here for the female crab roe, but unfortunately, it was out of stock that day. Luckily, their crab curry made up for the disappointment! It was so delicious, not too spicy, and you could really taste the freshness and sweetness of the crab meat. The river prawn was huge and even had some roe. Overall, the meal was pretty good! Total cost for our meal is about SGD$70

Opening hours: 1230-10pm, closed on Wednesday

After lunch, we walked to Siam Square to shop around before heading to our suit making place for second measurement.

Kodtalay Riverfront Seafood Buffet

If you love seafood buffets, you must come here! But I highly recommend making a reservation through their Facebook page. I didn’t make one because I wasn’t sure how long my suit fitting would take, so I had to get a queue number when I arrived. Thankfully, their queue system is very efficient. We waited for about 1 hour and 30 minutes before our turn. While waiting, they served drinks.

If possible, when making a reservation, choose a table near the river so you can enjoy the sunset! By the way, the seating area near the river (which is not sheltered) has a time limit of 3 hours, whereas the sheltered area offers unlimited dining time. So you see what you prefer, for us we opt to sit near the river, but not very near actually. And please choose a seat near a fan because they use charcoal for BBQ so it’s going to get real hot.

We paid about $28 SGD per person. Besides Thai street food, they also have an entire row of cooked dishes, fresh oysters, sashimi, grilled meats, vegetables, and even different types of crab. Really ALOT! Their chocolate chip, green tea and rum & raisin ice cream is NICE!

Feedback
1. Seafood in general is fresh to me, maybe because its crowded on the day I went, so they keep replenished with fresh supplies fast.
2. They have staffs walking around to clear the area to declutter your table.
3. There’s really a lot of cooked food, so you dont use it to grill your food also ok.

Leteva Thai Massage

After dinner, we went for a body scrub and massage around the Platinum Mall area. We walked around and ended up choosing Leteva. It’s a bit more expensive, but I like that they give more massage time and less time for the scrub. I don’t need a full hour of scrubbing so it really depends on what you prefer.

They seems to be quite popular too, we have to climb up to the top floor because the rest of the rooms where occupied.

Overall the services, scrubs and massage is good!

Day 3 Bangkok Itinerary

Big C Supercenter Ratchadamri

Big C is our first stop for day 3. I think there’s no need to introduce Big C, it’s one of the must-visit and most popular supermarkets in Bangkok! Below are some of the items I highly recommend buying. Over the years, I have noticed that Big C’s prices have gone up, but unfortunately, some of the products I like aren’t available at Makro.

After shopping, we went back to our hotel to pack our luggage and check out. We left our bags at the hotel before heading out for lunch!

L-Seven Lion Cafe

When I was searching for cafes in Bangkok for lunch, I happened to come across this lion cafe on RedNote (XHS).

It was really interesting, so I decided to visit the cafe for our lunch. There’s a minimum spending of 300 baht per person. Personally, while the food is great, I suggest just meeting the minimum spend to see the lion since the interaction time is only 5 minutes and it’s a one-time visit. Which is understandable, as lions aren’t your typical petting animals.

Of course, you can stay longer to interact with other animals and relax, as the outdoor seating area is quite nice.

First, you have to order your food and make the payment. Then, the staff will give you a ticket for animal petting.

Cute little cabybara.

We ordered one German pork knuckle to share and one drink each. The pork knuckle was really good and crispy. At first, we thought we might need to order more food later, but in the end, one was enough for both of us.

Overall, the place is nice and clean, but I can understand why some people may disagree with the idea of a lion cafe since lions aren’t really animals meant for petting. But the food and the service was great.

After the cafe, we went to Platinum Mall to shop for some things for the kids, then headed to Newman Exclusive to pick up our suits before going back to the airport!

Tax Refund In Thailand

We managed to reach airport early, so we went to do our tax refund. First we went to the customs inspection counter to have our receipts checked. The counter is at the end of the airport on the right side. After this procedure we can get our refund after going through the immigration counter.

Summary

Thats the end of our short 3 days 2 nights in Bangkok. I will be heading to Bangkok soon again, so continue to follow my social and blog for more updates!
