Wellspring by Silks Beitou is a newly opened Taiwan hot spring hotel and resort in Beitou, Taipei. I love its location, which is about a 3-minute walk from Xinbeitou MRT Station, and the area surrounding the hotel features many eateries and a hypermarket.
When it comes to hot springs, Taiwan’s hot springs are definitely on the list, as they rank among the world’s top 15 hot spring sites! Plus, they offer a wide variety of hot springs. Like in my Yilan and Miaoli stay, the hot spring is sodium bicarbonate spring and Beitou is sulfur spring.

Hotel Rooms
When we stepped into the hotel, we could still feel and smell how new it was. I stayed in their Hollywood King bed room, which features indoor dual bathtubs—one with hot spring water and the other with cold water.

We also went for room tour to see the other room configuration.
Deluxe family room with double queen bed. Toilet configuration is the same.

This is one of the new suite room which is not availble online yet, if keen do message them directly! The outdoor hot spring corner and view is so amazing!

Day Hot Spring
“For those who prefer a more private and romantic hot spring experience in Beitou without staying at the hotel, day-use hot spring rooms are available. A minimum of two guests is required to book, and each room can accommodate 3-4 guests, depending on its size.
Each booking allows for 90 minutes of use.

Wellspring By Silks Beitou Facilities
The hotel offers basic facilities such as a pool, gym, spa and kids’ playroom. The pool also features a water spa and hot spring. Guests can enjoy complimentary massages but need to register at the reception desk beforehand.

Besides private room hot spring, day hot spring, outdoor pool hot spring, they also have public hot spring! Private hot spring are divided into female and male area. They inherit Taiwanese and Japanese hot spring cultures, they have hot spring bath instructors.

Both dressing rooms are similar, very spacious and clean.

There is a resting area on Level 1 called The Gallery. Refreshments are available from the afternoon onwards, and during Happy Hour, there are snacks, a cheese bar, and an alcohol counter. Table games are also available, great for the whole family to chill and relax!

Some of the board games they have. Almost all tables have different types of board games.

Dining In Wellspring By Silks Beitou
Mihan Beitou
This is where guests enjoy their breakfast buffet in the morning. For lunch and dinner, hotpot options are available.

The morning buffet starts at 7 a.m. While the food appears to be international, I feel it leans more towards Japanese cuisine.. And the way they display, it’s so photo ready and makes you want to try everything!

Bando Club
This restaurant offers private dining and showcases Taiwanese cuisine with a modern twist. I think it’s an excellent place for families to enjoy a meal because it’s very spacious. Not only does the food look good, but it also tastes great—light and not overly oily. However, the portions are really huge—no joke!

Activities Near Wellspring By Silks Beitou
Street Food
Even though there are no nearby night markets to explore, there’s plenty of good food near our hotel! In fact, it’s quite a large area to walk around. There’s an intersection that leads to four different streets, so you can take your time strolling and exploring Beitou City.
北投炸弹葱油饼
This is a must-try if you’re in Beitou. Located in a prime spot with a yellow banner, it’s hard to miss. They don’t sell the typical Taiwanese-style spring onion pancake. When their pancake is placed in oil, it expands into a ball. Once it cools down, a layer of seasoning and egg is applied to it. We had this before dinner and decided to share one original flavour pancake because it’s quite large. It tastes amazing! The outer layer is crispy, while the dough is QQ.

Opening hours: 1130am to 7pm

北投本土味明泉红茶
This is a popular local milk tea store that has been around for more than 50 years. It’s quite close to the spring onion stall—just walk up towards the right, and you’ll see it. The store is famous not only for its affordability but also for its authentic and flavorful tea fragrance. The only downside is that you can’t choose the sugar level, but fortunately, it’s not overly sweet. The popular drinks include 紅茶奶蜜 (Red Tea Milk Honey), 冬瓜奶蜜 (Winter Melon Milk Honey), and 仙草奶蜜 (Grass Jelly Milk Honey).
Tips: If you want bubbles, you got to go during the afternoon. Because morning no bubbles (still cooking).

Opening hours: 10am to 11pm

We didn’t get a chance to try the two stalls below due to limited stomach space and time. However, I thought it would be good to share them since they are highly recommended by the locals as well. Like the two stalls mentioned above, these are also very popular and tend to be crowded or require queuing during peak hours. So, if you’d like to try them without a long wait, be sure to go early!
北投 24傳統小吃
If you love intestine dishes, this is the perfect place to visit. They serve various types of intestines without any unpleasant odor (as mentioned by our host, who often has lunch here). They offer a wide variety of Taiwanese dishes that are freshly prepared and very affordable. It’s also near the spring onion stall, walk up to your right, at opposite street.
Address: No. 213號, Guangming Rd, Beitou District, Taipei City, Taiwan 112
Opening hours: 10am to 2am

北投矮仔鲁肉饭
This is highly recommended by the hotel staff in Regent Taipei. Apparently, it’s known for having the best braised pork rice at a reasonable price. It’s located on the 2nd floor of Beitou Market. The store starts to have a queue as soon as it opens, so I suggest going early for breakfast if you want to avoid a long wait.
Address: 112, Taiwan, Taipei City, Beitou District, Huanggang Rd, 33號2 樓
Opening hours: 7am to 1pm, Closed on Thur.
Beitou Hand Hot Spring
Right beside Beitou Metro Station is the Hand Hot Spring and the Old Beitou Station with its train. You can soak your hands in the hot spring (it really makes your hands smooth!) and visit the old train station museum. (Click to enlarge the pictures)

Beitou Hot Spring Park & Museum
Next, we visited the Hot Spring Park, which is just beside. You can enjoy the breeze, the trees, and the river. We saw a few people exercising in the park. Further down is the Beitou Museum and library. We didn’t have time to visit the museum, so be sure to set aside some time for it if you’re there! The library is also a fantastic spot for photos.

That’s my experience in Bei Tou!
