Silks Place Tainan is an international five-star Tainan hotel popular for both business and leisure. The moment I stepped into the hotel, I was struck by its grandeur, complemented by a touch of Chinese cultural artistry.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not a kid-friendly hotel! They have kids’ club and tour activities suitable for families, couples, or friends visiting Tainan!

At the hotel lobby, there is a T-bar that serves hand-brewed specialty coffee. They also offer a perfume-making session. For Itamae-style coffee and the perfume-making experience, you need to book at least one day in advance and make arrangements at the counter.
Dinning at Silks Place Tainan
Robin’s Grill
This place serves breakfast in the morning for hotel guests and is open to the public for lunch and dinner. Their breakfast service is divided into two areas: Robin’s Grill and a banquet hall on level 2. Robin’s Grill offers an international breakfast, while the banquet hall serves a local Tainan-style breakfast. You can choose to enjoy either one or try both! But both side serves popular Tainan beef soup.

I chose to go to the banquet hall for breakfast since I’m more of a fan of local Tainan food.
Silks House
We had our dinner at Silks House. At Silks House they serves Cantonese and Taiwanese fine-dining cuisines.
Glass House
After dinner, we went to the Glass House to unwind. They serve artisanal cocktails, beer, refreshments, and live music. I was shocked to see all the alcohol prepared for us.
The interesting part is their alcohol are named after Chinese idioms and famous story. Like the first alcohol, its called 三十六计 aka The 36 Stratagems. It is an ancient Chinese collection of strategies and tactics often used in warfare, politics, and other competitive situations. The shots are named after each stratagem. We have to pick a lucky stratagem and drink the cup with that name.
Next one is 108条好汉 aka The 108 Heroes. So they really have 108 shots for us, and each shots have different alcohol content from 20% to 40%. No, we didn’t finish all, because we still have to wake up early tomorrow. Otherwise, I don’t mind enjoying the night and games.

Tainan Confucius Temple
Tainan Confucius temple was built in 1666. It’s free entry, but if you want to arrange a tour guide to explain this historical sites, you can make arrangement with Silks Place Tainan, it’s FREE for hotel room guest!
Tainan Judicial Museum
The Tainan Judicial Museum, built in 1912, is one of the three classic buildings constructed during the Japanese colonial era. The court still retains its courtroom, archive room, safe room, and a jail.
When we visit, there are upgrading and renovation works are underway to preserve the building’s architecture.
I like how Taiwan make such sacred, and mysterious Tainan Judicial Court to an educational and instagrammable place for the younger generation to learn about their history.
You can bring kids to go, because they also have interactive games for the visitors.

Lily Fruit has been around since 1947, and many people in Tainan grew up eating fruits from this store.

花园夜市 Tainan Garden Night Market
After we went back to the room and rest awhile, we decided to take cab down to Garden night market which is about 15mins drive away from Silks Place Tainan.

It’s about 30mins away from Silks Place Tainan. It’s a old street full of Tainan local traditional food.
